Das Cafe Global im April widmet sich einem Thema, welches oftmals in Vergessenheit ger\u00e4t, weil sich der Gro\u00dfteil der linken politischen Arbeit auf St\u00e4dte konzentriert. Nicht nur haben es junge Menschen auf dem Land oft schwer sich zu politisieren oder werden wegen ihrer politischen \u00dcberzeugungen gar von rechten Strukturen angegriffen. Generell scheinen die politischen Perspektiven in D\u00f6rfern und Kleinst\u00e4dten sehr gering. Durch die Auseinandersetzung mit Landk\u00e4mpfen in Lateinamerika und dem Austausch mit den Zapatistas, ist uns jedoch klar geworden, dass dies nicht so bleiben darf. Rechte Siedlungsnetzwerke in Deutschland bauen gezielt Strukturen auf dem Land auf und auch die aktuellen B\u00e4uer*innenproteste sind mit ihren Forderungen eher reaktion\u00e4r und konservativ. Doch es gibt auch viele junge Menschen und Initiativen, die bewusst Projekte auf dem Land aufbauen, sich mit kollektiver Produktion und der Verteidigung von Land und \u00d6kosystemen auseinandersetzen, wie es die vielen solidarischen Landwirtschaften oder Waldbesetzungen in Deutschland zeigen. Wir haben f\u00fcr die heutige Diskussion einen Film ausgew\u00e4hlt, der das Thema „Militarisierung, Enteignung und politische Stadt-Land-Verbindungen“ aufbringt. „Larzac – Aufstand der Bauern“ ist ein beeindruckendes Beispiel, wie sich B\u00e4uer*innen gegen Enteignung und Militarismus organisieren und gro\u00dfe Unterst\u00fctzung durch st\u00e4dtische Gruppen erfahren. Ein brandaktuelles Thema und Erfahrungen von denen wir unbedingt lernen sollten. Wir m\u00f6chten mit diesem Thema auch auf den Kongress „500 Jahre Widerstand: F\u00fcr das Leben \u2013 F\u00fcr das Land“ vom 3.-5. Mai 2024 aufmerksam machen, auf dem genau diese Themen mit vielen interessanten Referent*innen und aktiven Gruppen diskutiert werden sollen. Im Jahr 2025 j\u00e4hrt sich der deutsche Bauernkrieg zum 500. The Cafe Global in April is dedicated to a topic that is often forgotten because the majority of left-wing political work focuses on cities. Not only do young people in rural areas often find it difficult to politicize themselves or are even attacked by right-wing structures because of their political convictions. In general, the political prospects in villages and small towns seem very limited. However, through our engagement with land struggles in Latin America and the exchange with the Zapatistas, it has become clear to us that this must not remain the case. Right-wing settlement networks in Germany are deliberately building structures in the countryside and the current peasant protests are also rather reactionary and conservative in their demands. But there are also many young people and initiatives that are consciously building projects on the land, dealing with collective production and the defense of land and ecosystems, as shown by the many solidarity farms or forest occupations in Germany. For today’s discussion, we have selected a film that addresses the topic of „militarization, dispossession and political urban-rural connections“. „Larzac – Revolt of the Peasants“ is an impressive example of how peasants organize themselves against expropriation and militarism and receive great support from urban groups. A hot topic and experiences that we should definitely learn from. With this topic, we would also like to draw attention to the congress „500 Years of Resistance: For Life – For the Land“ from May 3-5, 2024, at which precisely these topics will be discussed with many interesting speakers and active groups.
